ON SUPER NATURAL POWERS -- SIDDHIS & OTHERS ! PART-1

ALL AVADHUTHAS WHOM WE HAVE DISCUSSED
EARLIER HAVE USED THEIR POWERS EXCEPT
RAMAKRISHNA PARAMAHAMSA & RAMANA
MAHARSHI. MAHIMA IN THESE TWO CASES USED
TO SHOW INDIRECTLY & NOT DIRECTLY AS IF
THEY USED THEM !

SRI RAMAKRISHNA PARAMAHAMSA

One of his bhakthas asked SRI RAMAKRISHNA
PARAMAHAMSA is it possible two different coloured flowers
to grow in the same plant. He said that it is possible if GOD
wishes so !

Next day when Ramakrishna was passing through flower
garden, he saw two different coloured flowers grown on the
same plant, which he showed to the bhaktha !

WHAT OCCULT POWERS ARE LIKE

HRIDAY asked me—I was then under his control to pray
to the Divine Mother for (occult) powers. I went to the
temple. In a vision I saw a widow thirty or thirty five years
old, covered with filth.

It was revealed to me that occult powers are like that filth.
I became angry with Hriday because he had asked me to
pray for powers.

BHAGWAN RAMANA MAHARSHI

Please read posting-- cracked egg hatched !

GOD SHOWS GREATNESS OF A SAINT THROUGH
MAHIMA FOR HIS POPULARITY AMONG MASSES.
MONEY REQUIRED FOR HIS INSTITUTION ALSO
FLOWS BECAUSE OF THAT. SWAMI NITHYANANDA
HAD NO HESITATION EVEN TO DEMONSTRATE
BUNDLES OF MONEY FLOWING OUT OF HIM !

SWAMI NITHYANANDA HAS TOLD SUPER NATURAL
POWERS USED BY AVADUTHAS ARE NOT SIDDIES

POLICE CANNOT HANDCUFF THEM, PUT THEM IN
LOCK UP OR JAIL THEM. WHATEVER MEANS THEY
HAVE WON'T STAND IN FRONT OF SAINTS WITH
SUPER NATURAL POWERS !! ONE SI MR.KHAN
TRIED IT WITH SWAMI NITHYANANDA , FAILED
MISERABLY, FELL TO HIS FEET & BECAME HIS
BHAKTHA ! TOOK THE HELP OF SWAMI TO SOLVE
HIS PROBLEMS !

SIDDIES ARE HURDLES FOR THE SPIRITUAL
PROGRESS OF A SADAKA ! IF HE FALLS TO THE
TEMPTATION HIS SPIRITUAL PROGRESS WILL
COME TO AN END. HE WILL NOT GET MOKSHA &
WILL HAVE TO TAKE REBIRTH.

IN PATANJALI'S YOGA SUTRA IT IS TOLD THAT,
IF A PERSON IS SUCCESSFUL IN YOGA &
SPIRITUALITY, THEY HAVE TO BE GIVEN PLACE
IN DEVA LOKA WHICH IS ALREADY CROWDED,
SO DEVATHA'S GIVE SIDDHIS TO YOGI'S SO THAT
THEY ARE TEMPTED & FALL FOR IT ! PROBLEM OF
PLACE FOR THESE PEOPLE IN DEVA LOKA IS
AVOIDED.

In the book 'LIVING WITH HIMALAYAN MASTERS'
Swami Rama narrates one or two incidents on siddhis.

Swami Rama

1) One of the shishyas of Swami Rama's Guru not finding
any progress spiritually, leaves him & goes to another
guru who has acquired siddhis. In say, two years time
that shishya was able to spit fire through his mouth through
siddhi. When this news was conveyed to Swami Rama's
guru, he told why so much of trouble, that job can easily be
done by a match stick !

2) ONE sales man in a sewing machine shop in Delhi knew
transportation siddhi, he met Swami Rama(?) in Himalaya
region. They requested that man to demonstrate his siddhi.
He chanted something & lo! one sewing machine from his
shop landed instantly. Now he chanted to transport it back
to his shop,it did not move. However much he tried he was
not successful in transporting it back to his shop ! Now the
man was worried as there will be a shortage of machine in
the shop,he has to answer his boss & also he has to carry
the machine along with him, all the way back to Delhi.

SWAMI VIVEKANADA

He used to meet people with super natural powers & he
used to ask ,"Have you seen GOD ?", "Can you show me
GOD ?"
Once he & his friends went to a person having Siddhis.
Before demonstration that person opened his dhothi &
showed them that he was not hiding anything. He asked
them what they want. They told a dish name from England.
Next moment there was that dish piping hot on a plate
with hotel emblem, napkin of that hotel.

Next they wanted to try a fruit. One of his friends had heard
name of a rare fruit from Europe. Immediately that fruit
was present in front of them. However regarding question
on GOD, he was not helpful to them.

ALL THE FOLLOWING AVADUTHAS / SAINTS HAVE
USED THEIR SUPER NATURAL POWERS

SWAMY NITHYANANDA

Swamy Nithyananda, when he was in Mangalore, a dumb &
deaf bhaktha told Swamy his wish to sit in an aeroplane,
pointing at the plane flying in the sky, through sign language.

After about three days, news came that a plane has landed
on the adjacent rice field being out of order. Nithyananda
told bhaktha to go & sit in the plane, which bhaktha did to
his satisfaction !

SHIRDI SAI BABA

Sai Baba made eleven assurances to his devotees:
What powers he should have to make these promises.

1) No harm shall befall him, who steps on the soil of Shirdi.
2) He who comes to my Samadhi, his sorrow and suffering
     shall cease.
3) Though I be no more in flesh and blood, I shall ever
     protect my devotees.
4) Trust in me and your prayer shall be answered.
5) Know that my spirit is immortal, know this for yourself.
6) Show unto me he who has sought refuge and has been
     turned away.
7) In whatever faith men worship me, even so do I render to
     them.
8) Not in vain is my promise that I shall ever lighten your
     burden.
9) Knock, and the door shall open, ask and it shall be
    granted.
10) To him who surrenders unto me totally I shall be ever
       indebted.
11) Blessed is he who has become one with me.

-- In the Guru sthan lamps were burning without oil for
        years !
-- Those who left Shirdi without taking his permission
        positively landed in trouble !
-- When he appeared in dream, it was not pure dream
as what he presented in dream used to be present
physically on bed !! like mangoes for example !
-- Gave darshan as his Bhaktha's favorite GOD's form
        like Vittal etc.
-- DIVINITY  of samadhi as told by him ,all prayers are
        answered !
-- DHUNI lighted by him continues to burn to this day !
-- Proved beyond doubt a saint can be GOD only !

AKKALKOT MAHARAJ

AKKALKOT MAHARAJ is supposed to be the second
avathar of Sri Dattatreya Bhagwan, first avathar being
that of SRIPADA SRIVALLABHA.

AKKALKOT MAHARAJ has done innumerable miracles
during his life time ! He has done 264 miracles during his
life time.So you can imagine what super natural powers
he was having !

-- curing diseases, fulfilling prayer for children, a girl
became man ! wild elephant subdued, giving darshan
of bhakthas favorite GOD,eradicating poverty of many
bhakthas, eye sight to blind boy,dry well filled with water
removing the egoistic nature of many many people !
Cow which was dry starts giving milk.

SAMARTHA RAMDASS OF SAJJAN GHAD

One interesting incident involving Super natural powers--

In Kashi, there was a very highly learned Pandit by name
Sadashiva Shasthri. He was full of Ego about his
knowledge, was thinking nobody is there who is as learned
as him.

He wanted to go to different places, debate with other
pundits & to defeat them.If he looses, he has decided to cut
his tongue.

He came to know that there is a Pundit in Shivaji's ministers
called Gaga Bhatta, with whom he wanted to debate. He met
Shivaji Maharaj & told about his wish. Shivaji told him to
come next day to the palace. In the mean time Gaga Bhatta
met Sadashiva Shastri & told him he was under the mercy
of Shivaji Maharaj & hence it is better to debate with
Guru Samartha Ramadass. Sadashiva Shastri liked the
idea.

Next day Shastri attended King's audience & told Shivaji
that he wanted to debate with Guru Ramadass. Shivaji
advised him that his guru is not of debating type, he is
practical demonstrating type, hence please drop your idea.
Shastri didn't listen to Shivaji.

Then Shivaji,Gaga Bhatta and Shastri went to Guru
Ramadass at Chaphala. All prostrated to Ramadass
except Shastri.

Guru Ramadass called one poor, low cast firewood
seller and asked him "who are you ?" He said," I am a
firewood seller & deliver to Rama Mandir, I am a Shudra"

Guru Ramadass called his disciple Kalyan & told him to
draw a line in front of firewood seller using a stick. Kalyan
did so, then Ramadass asked firewood seller to cross the
line, step forward & asked "Who are you ?" He answered,
"I am a Vaishya now". Guru asked Kalyan to draw another
line in front & asked"Who are you ?" He answered," I am
a Kshatriya". Same way after drawing another line, he
became a Brahmin. Now his body was shining with an
aura of knowledge on the face.Transformed Brahmin told
Ramadass," I am well versed in ten scriptures, with whom
shall I debate now ?"

Guru Ramadass told him to debate with Sadashiva
Shastri. In the debate transformed Brahmin defeated
Sadashiva Shastri three times. When Shastri was ready
to cut his tongue Guru Ramadass told him not to cut
and advised him not to be egoistic in future.

Sadashiva Shastri understood his mistake & prostrated
to Guru Ramadass.

Transformed Brahmin requested Ramadass to liberate
him.In the previous birth firewood seller was a Gandharva
by name Chitra Ratha. Due to the curse of Narada Muni
he had to take birth in this world in a low caste.Guru
Ramadass freed him from the curse, then he went back to
Gandharva Loka as Chithra Ratha. All people understood
the greatness of Guru Samartha Ramadass !!

SHRIDHARA SWAMY of VARADAPURA

There is a continuous water source at Varadapura created by
SHRIDHARA SWAMY which is supposed to be a mixture of
five rivers.People believe that water cures diseases . Free
food is served to all bhakthas even today.

He gained Brahma Jnana by doing service  to Samadhi of
Samartha Ramdass Guru of Shivaji Maharaj at Sajjan Ghad !

THE NINE MAIN SIDDHIS

As explained by Yogi Chaitanya Dev

1. PARKAYA PRAVESH
Parkaya Pravesh means entering one’s soul in the body of
some other person.Through this knowledge even a dead body
can be brought to life. Just about three thousand years back,
Shankaracharya had to take help of this knowledge in order to
defeat Mandan Mishra in a spiritual debate. But as time
passed this knowledge became extinct in the society and
today only a very few Yogis have full practical knowledge of
this unique practice. This knowledge is considered to be so
important and secret that only a few Yogis, known to me,
know of this practice and after them this practice shall
perhaps vanish from this earth.
2. HAADI VIDYA
This Vidya or knowledge has been mentioned in several
ancient texts. On acquiring this Vidya a person neither feels
hungry nor thirsty and he can remain without eating food or
drinking water for several days at a stretch. Several Yogis
of the Himalayas, remain engrossed in deep Sadhanas for
months and years without eating or drinking anything. When
they do not eat or drink, they do not even have to empty their
bowels. Thus they are able to perform long  penance for years
and their bodies also remain healthy and fit, even without food.
Acharya Vishnu Sarang, the famous Tantrik from Nepal and
Yogi Manohar are proficient in this Vidya. It has been reported
there is a yogi that lives on the peak of the holy mountain
Arunachala that has not had anything to eat since 1990.
3. KAADI VIDYA
Just as one does not feel hungry or thirsty in Haadi Vidya
similarly in Kaadi Vidya a person is not affected by change
of seasons i.e. by summer, winter, rain etc. After
accomplishing this Vidya a person shall not feel cold even
if he sits in the snow laden mountains and shall not feel hot
even if he sits in the fire. Thus a Sadhak can perform
incessant penance without being affected by change of
weather or seasons. The Jain scholar, Pragya Sun had
accomplished both the Haadi & Kaadi Vldyas. Guru
Gorakhnath and Matsayendranath too had accomplished
them. Today the Jain scholar of Mahabalipuram Sun
Maharaj and Yogi Vishambhar of Badrinath are

accomplished in these Vidyas and have kept these

practices alive.
4. MADALASA VIDYA
On accomplishing this Vidya, a person becomes capable
of increasing or decreasing the size of his body according
to his wish. Lord Hanuman had miniaturized his body

through this Vidya while entering the city of Lanka. The

average height of a human being is six feet. Through this
Vidya a person can reduce the size of his body to the size
of a mosquito and can even enlarge his body to a size of
over hundred feet. A few years back a conference of Yogis
was held on the Bhairav hill, near Dehradun and in this
conference Tailang Baba (anascetic) demonstrated this
miraculous practice before hundreds of Yogis. This Vidya
is almost extinct today and in my opinion only Tailang Baba
has accomplished it.
Anima Siddhi — The ability to decrease the size of one’s
body and become smaller than the smallest particle.
Through this siddhi one may enter into stone or change the
density in one’s body, enabling one to pass through solid
matter.
Mahima Siddhi — The ability to increase the size of one’s
body, ultimately enveloping the universe.
5. VAYU GAMAN SIDDHI
Through this Siddhi a person can become capable of flying
in the skies and traveling from one place to another in just a
few seconds. The Jain scriptures speak of Jain ascetics
who could fly from place to place in a few seconds. Swami
Divakarsuri and Swami Pragyasuri have been such
accomplished ascetics. Although there are several
occasions of individuals flying reported in the Sutras of
classical Buddhism and Zen, the Venerable Pindola
Bharadvaja is probably the person most commonly cited.
Swami Vishuddhanandji (d. 1937)(sometimes spelled:
Vishuddhananda, Vishudhanandaaka; aka: Gandha Baba,
Perfume Saint), well-known for his supernatural powers

and said to be an adept associated with the mysterious

Gyanganj (Jnanaganj) hermitage somewhere in Tibet —
a secret place of great masters — demonstrated this
practice in Varanasi and proved that it is not a myth.
Today Yogi Chaitanya Swami of Madurai and Yogi
Niranjan Swami living near Kanya Kumari are the Yogis
who have accomplished this practice. But it seems that
this knowledge shall perish with them. See as well the
Wanderling’s Journey.
Laghima Siddhi — The ability to make one’s body lighter
than air and fly at will. The perfection of this siddhi enables
one to travel on the sun’s ray’s enter into the sun planet.
6. KANAKDHARA SIDDHI
One can acquire immense and unlimited wealth through
this Siddhi. It’s said that once Shankaracharya saw a very
poor and destitute woman and with the help of the
Kanakdhara Yantra he showered gold in her house. This
Yantra is made on a silver plate and 36 squares are formed
by drawing 7 lines each, horizontally and vertically. Then the
Beej Mantra is written in these squares. Today only a very
few people have full and authentic knowledge of this Siddhi.
7. PRAKYA SADHANA
Through this Sadhana a Yogi can direct his disciple to take
birth from the womb of a woman, who is childless or cannot
bear children. Several Yogis have thus blessed infertile
women with children. Swami Vishuddhanand had
accomplished this Sadhana and had used it to bring
happiness into the lives of several women. But today only
two or three persons are accomplished in this Sadhana.
8. SURYA VIGYAN
This Solar science is one of the most significant sciences
of ancient India. This science has been known only to the
Indian Yogis and using it, one substance can be transformed
into another through the medium of sun rays.Swami
Vishudhananda had demonstrated the miracles of this
science about 50–60 years ago, by transforming a paper
into rose and a cotton ball into gold. This science has been
kept alive by Divyendu Ghosh and some other Yogis,
9. MRIT SANJIVANI VIDYA
This Vidya was created by Adi Shankaracharya. Through
it even a dead person can be brought back to life. This
practice may seem to be a myth but it had been used by
Guru Gorakhnath several times. Today only a few persons
have practical knowledge of this Vidya.
Prapti Siddhi — The ability to manifest any object one
desires within one’s hand.  This siddhi removes the
limitations of space which separate two objects from each
other. It is said one will even be able to touch the moon with
one’s finger [i.e. the limitation of distance is removed.]
Prakamya Siddhi — The ability to attain anything one

desires.

Ishita Siddhi — The ability to control the sub-potencies
of the laws of nature. This enables one to control various
energies and seemingly defy the laws of nature.
Vashita Siddhi — The ability to bring others under one’s
control.
Kamavasayita Siddhi — The ability to attain anything
anywhere. This is the highest of the eight and contains
most of the abilities of the other perfections.
Yogi Chaitanya Dev (pseudonym, nom de plume)
From the works of Sri Chaitanya Deva, (1485–1533),
Indian mystic and saint, also known as Gauranga
(the Golden). Born of Brahman parents in Nabadwip,
Bengal, a center of Sanskrit learning.  He attained
prominence as a scholar at an early age, but at 22
underwent a profound religious conversion. Two years
later, at age 24, he became a renunciant and left home
on pilgrimage. He eventually settled in Puri, Orissa, where
he lived the rest of his life.
Chaitanya was known for his Siddhis and wrought many
miracles in his lifetime. But one in particular stands out.
He had gone with his followers to witness the great chariot

festival of Lord Jagannath in Puri. Suddenly, the towering

chariot of the Lord came to a stop. Thousands of people
pulled at the ropes but could not budge it. Elephants were
brought, but they too failed. Finally Chaitanya came to the

back of the chariot and devotedly leaned his head against

it. The chariot began to move! By such miracles and his
personal saintliness, Chaitanya inspired a religious revival
which continues to this day.
There are three more powerful (in fact most powerful), those
are as follows,

1. manojvitva
2. vikranabhav
3. pradhanjaya
the difference is , “laghima” or “akaash gaman” gives to ability
to walk/fly in sky, but you have limits, like, u can not go to

moon in 1 second or so„ eg. if you have to go from Delhi to

London it will take time„„of course less but will take travel time.

but in the case of “manojvitva”, you can go to moon in one

second.
Have you people seen matrix? the enemy people and their
insertion in other characters? this can be achieved by
“vikranbhav”„„sadhak can insert himself in people in remotely
located place …no need to have a body like in “parakaya
pravesh”..

The third is “pradhanjay”, this is basically the control
over the whole nature , not only “paanch mahabhoot”
(5 elements). this is the state just before “kaivalya”, where
you actually see the God, the Divine Light..
Once the sadhak has no interest in above all siddhis, he
reaches kaivalya state..
